LinkPurifier Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 14, 2025

LinkPurifier is a single‑purpose, privacy‑first Chrome extension that removes tracking parameters from URLs. It is designed with a minimal‑permissions philosophy and processes all data locally on your device with no external data transmission.

Scope

This policy applies to the LinkPurifier browser extension for Chromium‑based browsers (e.g., Google Chrome).

What we collect

We do not collect, transmit, or sell personal data.

How LinkPurifier works

When you invoke the extension (toolbar button, context menu, or keyboard shortcut), LinkPurifier reads the active tab’s URL, removes known tracking parameters, and (optionally) copies the cleaned URL to your clipboard. All processing occurs locally in your browser.

Permissions and their use

Technical note: An offscreen document may be used by the background service worker solely to perform clipboard writes when triggered by you (e.g., keyboard shortcut or context menu). It does not transmit any data.

Data storage and retention

Children’s privacy

The extension does not target children and does not collect personal information.

Changes to this policy

If the extension ever introduces new features that require additional permissions or data handling, they will be opt‑in and clearly explained. This page will be updated to reflect any material changes.
